Werder Bremen and Wolfsburg are interested in securing the services of the 23-year-old Arsenal full-back Nuno Tavares.

According to Dharmesh Sheth via Football Daily, Arsenal are focused on offloading a few of their players before the end of the transfer window. They are ready to part ways with their 23-year-old full-back Nuno Tavares. And, there is interest from Bundesliga clubs Werder Bremen and Wolfsburg.

Tavares came through the ranks at Benfica before joining Arsenal in the summer of 2021. The Portuguese defender was expected to fight for a spot in the starting XI, but he has not been able to produce the goods so far.

In his first season with the club, the 23-year-old featured in a total of 28 matches and ended up contributing towards three goals. He did not get enough minutes and wasn’t in the plans of Arteta for the 2022/23 season. As a result, Tavares was loaned out to Marseille. He made a total of 39 appearances for the French club and featured as a left-sided midfielder in the majority of those fixtures.

The Portuguese full-back ended up contributing with six goals. After an impressive loan spell, he has returned to his parent club Arsenal but is unlikely to have an important role in the 2023/24 season. As a result, the Gunners are ready to offload him.

Arsenal have already spent a fortune on new players in the ongoing transfer window. They have spent around €200 million on the likes of Declan Rice, Jurrien Timber and Kai Havertz. And, Arsenal are now looking to raise funds by offloading players who are no longer a part of Arteta’s long-term plan.

The 23-year-old full-back is one of the names on the list, and they are ready to sell him for €15 million with two years still left on his deal. Bundesliga clubs Wolfsburg and Werder Bremen are keen on having the Portuguese defender in their ranks.

Wolfsburg are looking for more options in the left-back position and want to add the 23-year-old to their squad. Meanwhile, Anthony Jung is Werder Bermen’s only left-back option, and he is already 31. As a result, they are keen on signing Tavares. So it will be interesting to see if a move to the Bundesliga materialises for the Arsenal wide man.
