Manchester United are keen on having 23-year-old OGC Nice defender Jean-Clair Todibo in their ranks and have opened talks to sign him.

According to Fabrice Hawkins, Manchester United are interested in acquiring the services of Jean-Clair Todibo. The 23-year-old OGC Nice defender has gone from strength to strength over the past few seasons and the Red Devils are pushing for his services as they look to further bolster their defence.

Todibo was a part of Barcelona’s first team setup before joining the French club back in the winter of 2021. He joined them on an initial six-month loan which was made permanent in the following summer.

The 23-year-old has featured in a total of 103 matches and even scored two goals for the French club. Last season he was involved in a total of 46 matches and racked up over 4000 minutes. The French international has been putting in impressive performances over the past few seasons and his performances haven’t gone unnoticed.

While his contract with Nice runs until the summer of 2027, there is a real possibility of him leaving in the ongoing transfer window. Meanwhile, Manchester United are really keen on having the Nice defender in their ranks.

The Red Devils are looking to offload their former skipper Harry Maguire. The English centre-back has fallen way down the pecking order under Erik ten Hag and he is not in the plans of the Dutch manager for the upcoming season.

West Ham United are interested in the England international and they have placed a second bid for his services. The Hammers are pushing hard and are expected to complete the deal in the near future. Once United get Maguire off their books, they will push for the 23-year-old Frenchman.

The Manchester-based club are looking to fill the void left by the England international by signing the Nice defender who has been in incredible form of late. They have started talks with the club as well as the player’s entourage.

The French international’s arrival will further bolster their squad and help them challenge for major titles. However, they will have to first offload Harry Maguire in order to make a move to sign him.
