Folarin Balogun has been linked with a move away from Arsenal this summer, with Serie A giants Inter Milan keen on signing him.

According to a report from Alfredo Pedulla, Inter Milan have made their move to sign Folarin Balogun. The Serie A giants have established fresh contact with Premier League club Arsenal over a potential deal.

The striker is reportedly valued at €35 million, and it remains to be seen whether Inter Milan are prepared to pay up for him. Balogun was on loan at Reims last season, and he scored 22 goals across all competitions.

He could prove to be a quality long-term acquisition for the Italian club if they can agree on a deal with Arsenal. The Gunners will not be able to provide him with regular first-team football next season, especially with Gabriel Jesus and Kai Havertz at the club. It makes sense for Arsenal to cash in on him and invest the money into the playing squad.

Furthermore, Balogun needs to play regularly at this stage of his career in order to continue his development. Sitting on the bench at Arsenal will not be ideal for him. The opportunity to join a big club like Inter Milan will be tempting for the youngster and it remains to be seen whether the Italian outfit can provide him with first-team assurances.

The €35 million asking price could prove to be prohibitive for the Serie A club, considering they are going through financial limitations. However, they have recently sanctioned the departures of key players like Andre Onana and might have the funds to pull off the transfer.

Inter Milan were expected to sign Romelu Lukaku from Chelsea at one stage. But the move seems to have collapsed, and the Belgian is now being strongly linked with a move to rivals Juventus. Balogun could prove to be an interesting alternative to the Belgian international and could be a key player for Inter Milan in the coming seasons.
