Crystal Palace looking to sign Chelsea defender Lewis Hall

Chelsea are in record net debt of over 1bn pounds.

Chelsea defender Lewis Hall has been linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge this summer, with Crystal Palace interested in him.

According to London News Online, Crystal Palace are hoping to sign 18-year-old Chelsea defender Lewis Hall. The Eagles want to land the teenage wonderkid on a loan deal, and it remains to be seen whether they can convince the Blues to part ways with him.

Hall is highly rated at Stamford Bridge, and he has a big future ahead of him. The 18-year-old can operate as a midfielder as well as a full-back. His versatility could be an asset for Chelsea, and Mauricio Pochettino in the coming seasons.

Pochettino has a proven track record of nurturing talented young players into established first-team stars, and he could play a key role in the development of Hall. Selling him this summer would be a bit of a surprise given how talented he is and the amount of potential he has.

Chelsea will need a deeper squad to do well next season and get back into the Champions League once again. Hall could be a useful player for the Blues, even though he might not be starting for them regularly. That said, the 18-year-old will be hoping to play quite often next season, and Chelsea might not be able to provide him with the platform.

If Crystal Palace can give him game-time assurances, it will not be be surprising if he is tempted to join the Eagles amid the emerging interest. Crystal Palace need to improve defensively and Hall could prove to be a quality long-term investment for them.

Palace already have a number of talented young players at their disposal, and it seems that they are putting together a squad for the future. Hall is likely to be available for a reasonable price if he is sold and Crystal Palace could land themselves a real gem for the future.

Regular football at Crystal Palace will certainly be more beneficial to the young defender’s development as compared to sitting on the bench at a big club like Chelsea. The Blues already have players like Ben Chilwell and Marc Cucurella ahead of him in the pecking order, and the young defender will certainly consider his options if there is a concrete proposal from Palace on the table.
