French attacking sensation Bradley Barcola is reportedly a target for Barcelona, with Lyon demanding €50 million to sell him.
According to a report by Mundo Deportivo, Bradley Barcola is the subject of interest from Barcelona. The French attacking sensation is also a target for Paris Saint-Germain in the ongoing transfer window. Meanwhile, Lyon will demand €50 million to part ways with the young winger this summer.
Bradley Barcola started his youth career with AS Buers-Villeurbanne but spent most of his formative years with Lyon. The 20-year-old joined Les Gones in 2010 and has been with them for well over a decade. And after rising through the ranks at the Ligue 1 club, he broke into the first-team squad in November 2021.
But 2022/23 was Barcola’s breakthrough season with Lyon as he gradually became a regular for them. The 20-year-old garnered an impressive tally of seven goals and ten assists in 31 outings in all competitions. And the youngster’s progress has not gone unnoticed, with several high-profile clubs, including Barcelona, setting their sights on him.
Barcelona will part ways with Ousmane Dembele in the coming days, with the French international on the verge of joining Paris Saint-Germain. While Raphinha should now become the undisputed first-choice right-winger, Barcelona can perhaps do with another wide attacker this summer.
Barcola has thus emerged as a viable target for Barcelona over a move in the ongoing transfer window. But the French attacking sensation might not fall in Barcelona’s budget, with Lyon demanding €50 million to part ways with him. And while the Blaugrana will sell Dembele for €50 million, they will only recoup around half of the transfer fee.
So shelling out €50 million to secure Barcola’s services seems out of the question for Barcelona. Meanwhile, the Catalan giants are not the only club keen on signing the 20-year-old. PSG and Manchester City are also interested in prising him away from Lyon in the ongoing transfer window.
Barcelona’s English and French counterparts have the financial prowess to pay €50 million to land the French attacking sensation. But it will be interesting to see if Barcelona can somehow get Lyon to lower Barcola’s asking price this summer.
