Liverpool are reportedly keen on signing 19-year-old Southampton midfielder Romeo Lavia this summer.
Romeo Lavia has been linked with a move to Anfield, and Liverpool have already failed with two offers to sign the player. According to Sacha Tavolieri, the Reds are now preparing a final bid to sign the 19-year-old.
Lavia impressed with his performances in the Premier League last season, and he is a man in demand this summer. Despite Southampton’s relegation, clubs are hoping to sign the 19-year-old, and it remains to be seen whether Liverpool can get the deal done.
According to reports, the player is keen on a move to Anfield this summer, and Liverpool will have to agree on a deal with Southampton now. The recently relegated club are reportedly holding out for a fee of around £50 million for their prized young talent.
Lavia has a clause in his contract, which allows him to leave for £40 million next summer and it can be triggered by his former club Manchester City. It makes sense for Southampton to try and sell him for a higher fee this summer.

Liverpool need someone like him, and he would be a quality long-term acquisition. Liverpool have sanctioned the departure of Fabinho earlier this summer. So they need to bring in a quality replacement. Lavia has thus emerged as a viable target for Liverpool, who are pushing for his signature.
The Reds have already signed Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai in the summer. Both players will add creativity and control to the side. Liverpool need someone who will add defensive cover to the side as well.
Lavia has the potential to develop into a top-quality defensive midfielder, and he could be an asset for Liverpool in the long run. Although the £50 million asking price seems quite steep right now, the 19-year-old has the potential to justify the investment in the long run. Nonetheless, Liverpool’s final bid to sign the teenage sensation is coming.
