Kylian Mbappe, a target for Real Madrid, is not interested in joining Chelsea this summer in the wake of talks between the Blues and PSG.
According to a report by Spanish outlet SPORT, Kylian Mbappe is the subject of interest from Chelsea. And the West London club’s co-owner Todd Boehly recently held talks with Paris Saint-Germain supremo Nasser Al-Khelaifi. But the 24-year-old attacker, also a target for Real Madrid, does not want to move to Stamford Bridge.
Kylian Mbappe has been one of the best players in the world for much of the last half a dozen years. His stock skyrocketed in his breakthrough season as a professional footballer. And the Frenchman has become a pivotal figure for his club and country since then, establishing himself as a talismanic figure for both teams.
The 24-year-old has been an extraordinary performer for PSG in the last six years, amassing 212 goals and 98 assists in 26 appearances. But Mbappe’s future at Parc des Princes is non-existent, and he might have played his last game for PSG. And with Les Parisiens keen on parting ways with him this summer, the situation has captured the attention of Real Madrid and Chelsea.
The 2018 FIFA World Cup winner has been on Real Madrid’s radar for an eternity. And the Spanish giants have even attempted to secure Mbappe’s services on a couple of occasions. But a move has never materialised, with the player infamously snubbing Real Madrid last summer to sign a new contract with PSG.
However, with the French international deciding not to sign another new contract with PSG, he has entered the final year of his contract. Such a situation has captured the attention of Real Madrid. But Los Blancos will reportedly look to secure Mbappe’s services next summer instead of this year. Such a decision has compelled clubs like Chelsea to attempt a sneaky move in the ongoing transfer window.
Reports this week have suggested that Todd Boehly and Nasser Al-Khelaifi have been in contact over a move for the 24-year-old. And Mbappe’s qualities would make him a game-changing signing for Chelsea. But the player is incensed at PSG for the talks with Chelsea and does not want to move to Stamford Bridge.
The coast seems to be clear for Real Madrid to secure Mbappe’s services in a Bosman move next summer. But PSG will attempt to do everything possible to part ways with the 24-year-old this summer.
