Harry Kane gave Tottenham a boost as he could rule out a transfer if a move to Bayern Munich does not happen before the season opener.
According to Evening Standard, Harry Kane could remain at Tottenham and start the season if the club cannot agree with Bayern Munich before August 13. The 32-goal striker is also reportedly open to considering a new contract if he sees substantial progress in the opening months under Ange Postecoglou.
The Harry Kane saga has seemingly produced yet another twist in the tale, as the striker could now stay at Tottenham if the conditions are right. By that, the report suggests. Spurs must negotiate a transfer with Bayern Munich before the season opens on August 13.
The story revolves around Kane, eager to maintain harmony with the club and not disrupt their plans with a late transfer. There’s also the element of pressure tactic, as the 32-goal striker could further push Tottenham to swiftly agree on a deal with Bayern.
So far, the two clubs have locked in talks without finding a breakthrough. Bayern chiefs reportedly met Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy, with their latest verbal bid of £85 million not matching the Spurs supremo’s £100 million asking price.

Bayern remain confident about signing Kane in this window and will make a concerted effort to land the England captain. The 30-year-old has remained open to joining the Bundesliga giants but does not want to ruin Ange Postecoglou’s preparations for the season.
So far, Kane has featured heavily in their pre-season, and Postecoglou will hope to have the striker in his side. The 30-year-old recently decided against signing a new contract at Tottenham, which has compelled Levy and the club hierarchy to find a way to sell him.
Kane has been in this situation before, which somewhat disrupted their season. Manchester City were the club linked with a move but eventually failed to get past Levy in their negotiations. This time around, the 30-year-old has the ball in his court and could pressure Spurs to decide on his future.
They already have a few replacements in mind, with Jonathan David the latest to emerge on their shortlist. The report also suggests Kane could consider signing a new Tottenham deal if he stays and sees progress in the first few months.
If Tottenham decides against selling him with the hope of re-signing him to a new deal, they are taking a massive market risk. Kane could agree on a pre-contract with an overseas club in January or join an English side as a free agent next summer.
