Tottenham considering Gift Orban swoop

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly keen on signing 21-year-old Gent striker Gift Orban in the ongoing transfer window.

Gift Orban had an impressive campaign with Gent last season, scoring 20 goals in 22 appearances across all competitions. A report from Daily Mail has claimed that Tottenham have now joined the race to sign the 21-year-old striker.

It is no surprise that Tottenham are looking to bring in attacking reinforcements, especially with the future of Harry Kane in major doubt. The 30-year-old is the target for Bayern Munich, and he is reportedly keen on a move away from the club. Kane will want to end his wait for trophies now, and the opportunity to join a big club with a proven record of winning trophies will be hard to turn down.

The Englishman is one of the best strikers in Premier League history, and his departure will certainly come as a blow to Tottenham. They must look to bring in multiple attacking signings in order to fill the void left by the England international.

Spurs have been linked with players like Jonathan David as well. It remains to be seen whether they can agree on a deal for Orban with the Belgian club. The 21-year-old striker is highly rated around Europe, and he has a big future ahead of him.

Orban is a prodigious young talent, and the opportunity to play for a big club will be hard to turn down for him. He will look to take the next step in his development, and working under a coach like Ange Postecoglou could get the best out of him.

The Australian has a proven track record of getting the most out of his players and could help the 21-year-old striker improve in the coming months. Although Tottenham do not have Champions League football to offer, they are a big club with an exciting project and should be able to attract the player and convince him of their project.

It remains to be seen whether the two clubs can agree on a fee now. If Tottenham can sign him for a reasonable price this summer, the move could prove to be a masterstroke in the long run. The striker has a contract with get until the summer of 2027 and it remains to be seen how much the Belgian outfit demand for his signature.
