Chelsea are ready to offer 30-year-old Romelu Lukaku plus cash to sign 23-year-old Juventus star forward Dusan Vlahovic.
According to Daily Mail, Chelsea are now considering pushing for the services of Dusan Vlahovic and are ready to offer Romelu Lukaku in return. The Blues are ready to put forward a player-plus-cash deal to sign the 23-year-old Serbian international, with Romelu Lukaku heading the other way.
The Blues have been trying to find a permanent solution for Lukaku in the ongoing window. But they have not managed to do so yet. The West London club brought him back to the club from Inter Milan in a deal worth around £97 million.
But, his transfer did not go according to plan as he failed to fire. And, they are now ready to suffer a loss and get him off their books for just £34.2 million.
The 30-year-old spent last season on loan at Inter, and they were keen on having him back in their ranks. The Serie A club were in negotiations with Chelsea over a permanent transfer. But, they dropped their interest in Lukaku after they learned about him negotiating with Juventus.
The Old Lady are keen on having him in their ranks. But, they are awaiting the sale of Dusan Vlahovic in order to submit an offer close to Chelsea. Juventus were waiting for Paris Saint-German to sign their 23-year-old striker. But the French club have now shifted their attention towards Randal Kolo Muani from Eintracht Frankfurt and Barcelona’s Ousmane Dembele.
As a result, the Old Lady have now proposed an idea of Vlahovic joining Chelsea in a deal which will see Lukaku make the move to Turin. And, the Blues seem to have liked the idea. Chelsea are now ready to offer the 30-year-old striker plus up to £38.5 million to land the Serb at the club. They are looking to put forward an initial offer in between £21.5 million and £38.5 million.
While Vlahovic has not been at his best of late and has struggled with injuries, Mauricio Pochettino is a big admirer of the 23-year-old and believes he could get going at the London club. The Blues are keen on having him in their ranks. But his wages are a major hurdle as Chelsea have been looking to restructure their wage bill of late.
