And the Premier League champions have advanced their discussions with RB Leipzig for the 21-year-old. A deal for the youngster will likely be worth close to £100 million, a world record sum for a defender.
Josko Gvardiol has established himself as one of the best young prospects in the world in the last few years. A graduate of the Dinamo Zagreb Academy, the Croat has come leaps and bounds since turning professional. And his stock has skyrocketed during his ongoing two-year stint with RB Leipzig.
The 21-year-old has been a mainstay at the back for RB Leipzig in the last two seasons. He has made 87 appearances while chipping in with five goals and three assists. In addition, Gvardiol’s star has soared on the international stage, and he was sensational at the 2022 FIFA World Cup. But his stint with Leipzig might end this summer, with Manchester City keen on signing him.
