Juventus agree fee with Chelsea for Romelu Lukaku, waiting in the wings now

Juventus have struck a deal with Chelsea for the services of Romelu Lukaku but the move will depend on the future of Dusan Vlahovic.

According to a report by Calciomercato.it, Juventus are keen on having Romelu Lukaku in their ranks and have managed to strike a deal with Chelsea for the service of the 30-year-old. They are ready to pay the €40 million that the Blues are looking for and on top of that, Juventus are ready to offer the former Inter Milan forward €8 million per year.

Lukaku’s future has been uncertain ever since the last season ended, and there is still no clarity on where he will be at the start of next season. While Juventus have an agreement in place for the Belgian international, the transfer has been held up amidst uncertainty around Dušan Vlahović’s future.

The Old Lady are ready to offload the 23-year-old forward in the ongoing transfer window. They acquired him back in the winter of 2022 from Fiorentina. But. the Serbian international has not had the best of times since making the move to Turin.

He has failed to live up to the expectations and they are ready to sell him. But, they are looking for a fee close to €80 million. While there is a lot of interest in his services, no concrete offers have been made for him yet. And, it looks like he might end up staying at the club.

If Vlahovic ends up staying at the Turin-based club, Juventus will not be moving ahead with the deal. Meanwhile, Inter Milan were also keen on having him in their ranks. He was on loan at Inter last season and did a decent job with 14 goals and seven assists.

On the back of his impressive performances, Simone Inzaghi wanted him back at the club. This time Inter were ready to sign him on a permanent basis and were involved in discussions with Chelsea. However, they are no longer interested in the 30-year-old after the player held talks with rivals Juventus.

With Inter out of the race, Juventus seem to be his only hope in Europe. As a result, Saudi Pro League clubs could reignite their interest in the Belgian international’s services.
