Aston Villa, West Ham United make approach for Dusan Vlahovic

Aston Villa and West Ham United have enquired about the services of 23-year-old Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport via Sport Witness, Aston Villa and West Ham United are interested in the services of Dusan Vlahovic. The 23-year-old striker’s future has been uncertain of late and he could be sold if the right offer arrives.

Vlahovic has not had the best of times since making the move to Juventus from Fiorentina in the winter of 2022. He has failed to live up to the expectations that the Italian giants had from the 23-year-old Serbian international. He has featured in a total of 63 matches for the Old Lady and has been involved in 29 goals.

The former Fiorentina striker has only found the back of the net on 23 occasions since arriving at the club. As far as the last season is concerned, the 23-year-old featured in 42 matches and was on the pitch for close to 3,000 minutes. But, all he could manage was 14 goals and four assists. The numbers are not good enough for a forward who is expected to be leading the lines.

Meanwhile, with a lot going on in the background and Juventus struggling with finances, they are ready to let go of their striker. However, they will only do it on their terms with three years still left on his deal. According to reports, the Old Lady have set an asking price of €80 million.

While neither Aston Villa nor West Ham have ever spent that big a fee on a single player, they seem interested in the 23-year-old. And, both clubs have enquired about his services.

The Hammers have received a significant financial boost after the sale of Declan Rice. The departure of their skipper has added over €100 million to their purse. As a result, they are dreaming big and want to acquire the Serbian international to boost their attack.

Meanwhile, Aston Villa had a great season under the leadership of Unai Emery. They have made their way to Europe and are keen on reinforcing their attack ahead of next season. They want to sign a number nine who can add goals and be a leader.

Even if Aston Villa and West Ham are ready to meet the asking price, they will still have to convince the 23-year-old about their project which at this point in time seems to be a huge task.
