Liverpool are considering pushing for the services of the 28-year-old Bayern Munich midfielder Leon Goretzka.

According to a report by Football Transfers, Liverpool are keen on having Leon Goretzka in their ranks. The Merseyside club are looking to further bolster their midfield ahead of next season and have their eyes set on the 28-year-old.

Liverpool struggled last season and failed to finish inside the top four. As a result, they won’t be competing in the Champions League next season. Their struggle had a lot to do with their inconsistent and aged midfield.

As a result, their manager Jurgen Klopp is keen on completing an overhaul in the centre of the park. The Merseyside club decided against renewing the contract of James Milner, Naby Keita and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

Post the departure of the trio, they have managed to sign Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai. But, it looks like a lot could still happen at Liverpool with Jordan Henderson and Fabinho closing in on a move to the Saudi Pro League. Even Thiago Alcantara could be on his way out.

As a result, the Merseyside club still need to sign a few midfielders. And, they are keen on having Bayern Munich star Leon Goretzka in their ranks. Bayern’s new manager Thomas Tuchel has hinted that the German international is allowed to look for a new club. And, according to the report, the German giants will accept a fee of €40 million for his services.

Meanwhile, Liverpool are very much interested in his services. They were keen on signing him back in the day before he made the move to Bayern Munich and are now once again ready to push for his services.

The player is a big fan of Jurgen Klopp and would love to work under him. The German manager would also love to have him in his ranks because of his versatility. The 28-year-old is capable enough to play as a No.10, No.8 and a No.6.

His arrival will not just add depth but will also allow Klopp numerous options to work with. With Liverpool keen on having him in their ranks and Bayern Munich ready to sell, it will be interesting to see if they can strike a deal for his services.
