Crystal Palace are ready to sell Liverpool target Cheick Doucoure for around £35 million.
According to Football Insider, Premier League side Crystal Palace have named their price for Liverpool target Cheick Doucoure in the ongoing 2023 summer transfer window. The Eagles want a fee over £35 million to sell the Malian midfielder.
The 23-year-old has appeared on Liverpool’s radar as a potential replacement for Fabinho who is Saudi Arabia bound. The Brazilian is close to finalising a move to Al Ittihad, leaving Jurgen Klopp and co without a senior number six in their ranks.
Several midfielders have been linked with a switch to Anfield this summer, and Doucoure is the latest name on the list. The reigning Crystal Palace Player of the Year is coming off a solid season that gave wind to the potential in his feet.
Crystal Palace, for their part, are ready to sell but only for a fee over £35 million. The quoted amount is certainly within Liverpool’s comfort level and the onus is now on the Reds to make their move.
Fabinho is not the only midfielder to leave in the coming weeks with skipper Jordan Henderson expected to follow suit. The English vice-captain was left out of the club’s pre-season opener against Karlsruher, perhaps giving the biggest indication yet that his time on Merseyside is up.
The duo’s exit should net Liverpool around £50 million, a handsome amount that needs to be reinvested. Signing Doucoure will still leave the Reds with enough change to bring in further reinforcements.
Doucoure might not be the most high-profile name on the list. But the youngster has the potential to develop into a serial star for the Reds. A solid player who excels in his reading of the game and intercepting passes, he could form a dynamic triad with Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai in the middle of the park.

At 23, Doucoure is still young enough to develop into a world-class star and could future-proof the position for the Reds in the years to come. Not only did the Malian star garner Premier League experience but also stood out for Palace in his debut season for the club. Klopp can certainly help take Doucoure to the next level and aid in his evolution. The Reds love a bargain and in the 23-year-old, they could get just that.
