Manchester United defender Alex Telles is set to leave the club this summer, with Al Nassr being his next destination.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Manchester United have reached an agreement for 30-year-old Brazilian international Alex Telles with Saudi Arabian club Al Nassr.

Former Manchester United forward Cristiano Ronaldo also joined the Saudi Arabian outfit back in January, and Alex Telles is now set to reunite with him. The 30-year-old struggled for regular game time at Manchester United last season. So it makes sense for the Red Devils to cash in on him.

Luke Shaw is undoubtedly the first choice left-back at the club, and Manchester United signed Tyrell Malacia as his understudy. Telles was the third-choice left-back at Old Trafford, and he will look to play regularly with a move to Al Nassr.

The 30-year-old is certainly good enough to be a key player for the Saudi Arabian outfit, and he will look to get his career back on track with regular first-team action. Meanwhile, Manchester United need to add more depth to their central defensive unit. So it remains to be seen whether they can bring in the right reinforcements after getting rid of their deadwood.

Erik ten Hag will want to put together a side capable of challenging for the league title and the UEFA Champions League. Players like Alex Telles are certainly not good enough to compete with the likes of Manchester City. So the Red Devils should look to aim higher.

The 30-year-old Brazilian defender arrived at Old Trafford with massive expectations. But he will feel that the move did not work out and he will look to make a fresh start in Saudi Arabia now. It will be interesting to see if Manchester United decide to invest the proceeds from his sale into new signings.

The Red Devils need to improve their squad significantly ahead of the new season. They should look to bring in a quality central defender, a central midfielder and a striker before the window closes. As for the Brazilian defender, a move to Saudi Arabia could mean a lucrative contract for him. It will be interesting to see if he can make his mark in the Saudi League next season.
