Barcelona interested in Almugera Kabar

SV Hüsten 09Barcelona will reportedly look to sign 17-year-old German wonderkid Almugera Kabar from Borussia Dortmund this summer.

According to a report by German outlet Bild, Almugera Kabar is the subject of interest from Barcelona. And the Catalan giants have already held initial talks to sign the 17-year-old wonderkid. But Borussia Dortmund will unlikely entertain any offers for the teenage sensation in the ongoing transfer window.

Almugera Kabar has travelled through different clubs during his formative years thus far. He started his youth career at SV Hüsten 09 before joining Hammer SpVg. But the German prodigy has risen to prominence after moving to Borussia Dortmund in July 2019. And he currently represents their under-19 team.

A left-back by trade, Kabar is the quintessential modern-day full-back. And he is also versatile enough to reprise more advanced roles on the left flank. So it is hardly surprising that the 17-year-old wonderkid has captured the attention of high-profile clubs. And Barcelona will look to secure his services this summer.

The Catalan giants have been busy in the ongoing transfer window, even bolstering the youth ranks. Mikayil Faye has already reinforced Barcelona’s youth and reserve division, and several other prodigies have emerged on the club’s radar. And Kabar is the latest whizkid to emerge as a target for Barcelona.

Recent reports have linked Barcelona with many Germany-based prospects, including Kebir Ali Canpolat. As for Kabar, the German under-17 international can be a long-term solution for the left-back berth along with Alejandro Balde. And while the Spanish international has the left-back berth nailed down, added competition always helps.

Marcos Alonso is only a short-term option for Xavi Hernandez. So signing the 17-year-old German wonderkid will bode well for Barcelona. And the reigning La Liga champions have already opened talks to discuss a possible deal with Borussia Dortmund. But the Bundesliga giants do not want to part ways with their prized asset.

The Black and Yellows see a bright future for Kabar at the Signal Iduna Park. So Barcelona will have an uphill task to convince Kabar to end his stint with Borussia Dortmund to move abroad. It will be interesting to see if a summer move materialises amid Dortmund’s resistance.
