Manchester United have been linked with a move for 20-year-old Atalanta striker Rasmus Hojlund in recent weeks.
According to Italian journalist Rudy Galetti, Manchester United are now set to intensify their efforts to sign Rasmus Hojlund. And it will be interesting to see if they can agree on a deal with Atalanta for the 20-year-old.
Hojlund has been in outstanding form this past season, scoring 16 goals across all competitions. He is valued at £50 million by Atalanta, and a club with Manchester United’s resources can certainly afford that.
It remains to be seen whether Manchester United decide to come forward with a concrete proposal for the players in the coming weeks. They will need to bring in a quality goalscorer and the 21-year-old could develop into a key player for them over the next few seasons. Recent reports have claimed they have been preparing a bid to sign him.
The Danish international has all the attributes to develop into a world-class player, and he has been likened to the Manchester City star Erling Haaland. The opportunity to play for Manchester United can be hard to turn down, and the young striker is likely to be tempted to join them.

Atalanta signed him last summer from Sturm Graz, and they will not want to let go of him just yet. However, they could be powerless to stop him from leaving if there is a concrete offer on the table. But it is hardly surprising that La Dea want £50 million from Hojlund’s sale.
Manchester United have secured Champions League qualification for next season, and they will need a bigger squad to do well across multiple competitions. Signing another goalscorer should be a top priority for them.
Marcus Rashford had to carry the Manchester United attack all by himself last season, and the England international clearly needs more help and support from his teammates. Hojlund could form a quality long-term partnership with the England international and he could sort out Manchester United’s goalscoring problems for the foreseeable future.
The Red Devils have been linked with players like Harry Kane and Goncalo Ramos as well. However, it is fair to assume that both players are likely to cost a lot more than the Atalanta forward. Meanwhile, the 20-year-old has his heart set on joining Manchester United. So a summer move should be on the cards.
