West Ham United and Newcastle United are all set to battle it out for the services of 28-year-old RC Strasbourg Alsace striker Habib Diallo.

According to Ignazio Genuardi, West Ham United and Newcastle United are both interested in the services of Habib Diallo. The 28-year-old was in sensational touch in front of goal last season and the clubs are keen on having him in their ranks as they look to bolster their attack.

Diallo came through the ranks at FC Metz but failed to establish himself in their first team. The 28-year-old was subject to multiple loan moves before making a permanent move to join RC Strasbourg Alsace in October 2020.

The Senegalese international has since gone from strength to strength. He has featured in a total of 103 matches for the French club and has scored a total of 41 goals. The 28-year-old also has six assists to his name.

Out of the 41 goals, 20 have come in the recently concluded season. Diallo contributed towards 21 goals in his 38 outings in the 2022-23 seasons. His impressive performances have helped the cause of his team and his heroics haven’t gone unnoticed.

While the 28-year-old’s contract with the French club runs until the summer of 2025, he is expected to be on the move in the ongoing summer. While there is a lot of interest from all across Europe, there is some serious interest from the Premier League in particular.

West Ham United and Newcastle United are both keen on having the 20-goal star in their ranks. The Hammers might have won the UEFA Conference League last season but they struggled in the Premier League. They somehow survived relegation and are looking to sort things out before the start of next season.

One of their major concerns last season was their form in front of goal and singing Diallo will surely help their cause. As far as the Magpies are concerned, they are all set to compete in the Champions League in the upcoming season.

They need to have enough quality and depth to be competitive in both the league and the UCL. And, it might be one of the reasons why they are keen on having another quality striker in their ranks.
