Crystal Palace are keen on having Perr Schuurs in their ranks and have already placed a bid for the Liverpool target.

According to DAZN Italia via Italian Football TV, Crystal Palace are interested in acquiring the services of Perr Schuurs ahead of next season. The 23-year-old defender has been in exceptional form over the last 12 months and he is on the wishlist of multiple top clubs from across Europe.

Schuurs was a part of the Dutch club Ajax before making the move to Italy. The 23-year-old joined Torino ahead of the 2022/23 season. And, he has been in putting in some impressive performances post joining the Italian outfit.

The Dutch international featured in a total of 36 matches and also contributed towards three goals last season. Only four out of the 36 appearances came off the bench. He managed to establish himself as a regular in their team and also became the mainstay of their defence, all within the first season.

His sensational performances have caught the eyes of quite a few clubs. And, there could be a bidding war for the 23-year-old’s services. While his contract with the Italian outfit runs until the summer of 2026, a departure in the ongoing summer seems a possibility.

Crystal Palace finished 14th in the league last season and one of the major reasons was their poor run in the final leg of the season. The Eagles struggled to defend, they were conceding goals way too easily. And, they want to ensure they do not end up in a similar situation next season.

As a result, they are keen on defensive reinforcement and have their eyes set on Schuurs. The Eagles have been in contact with the club as well as the player of late. And, as per the report, they have put forward a €35 million offer for his services.

They are ready to offer the Dutch international a four-year contract. While the proposal from the Eagles is quite decent, Liverpool are still in contention for his services and the player seems inclined towards joining the Reds.

Jurgen Klopp is keen on defensive reinforcement and considers Schuurs to be a budget-friendly option who can turn out to be a world-class defender in a few years’ time. With the Merseyside club interested in his services, Palace won’t find it easy to strike a deal.
