West Ham United are closing in on a summer deal for Bristol City star Alex Scott
According to Football Insider, West Ham United are leading the race for Bristol City midfield star Alex Scott in the ongoing summer transfer window.
The 19-year-old has caught the eye of several top-flight clubs following a strong series of performances at Ashton Gate. Nicknamed the Guernsey Grealish, Scott has the opportunity to strut his stuff in the same league as the Manchester City ace.
Having come through the club’s Under-18 side in 2021, Scott is today one of Bristol City’s best players. Just 19, he has the world at his feet and could go on to enjoy a successful career in the Premier League.
The reigning EFL Young Player of the Season award winner has also drawn praise from Pep Guardiola and is surely setting tongues wagging with his performances. A central midfielder who is good with the ball at his feet, Scott has an eye for reading the game and making interceptions.

West Ham United could do with just his talents as they prepare for life without Declan Rice. The Hammers skipper is on his way to Arsenal, leaving behind a huge void in the Hammers midfield. While it will be too much to ask Scott to replace him off the bat, the youngster could very well develop into a long-term solution for the role.
The Hammers are ready to pounce and should have no issue forking the money given the club record deal struck with the Gunners. Having won the UEFA Conference League last season, David Moyes’s side will compete in the UEFA Europa League next season.
This should give them an advantage in terms of attracting players despite what was a terrible 2022-23 Premier League campaign. Adding Scott will future-proof a key position around which they can rebuild the roster.
The 19-year-old is promising but has some rough edges that need to be ironed out. David Moyes helped develop Rice into a world-class player in the last few years and could repeat the trick with Scott. Surely earning his badges at the London Stadium before auditioning for one of the top clubs is certainly the way to go for the Championship star.
