West Ham United are keen on acquiring the services of 19-year-old Bristol City midfielder Alex Scott as they look to replace Declan Rice.

According to Michael Bridge via GIVEMESPORT, West Ham United would love to have Alex Scott in their ranks ahead of next season. The 19-year-old has made quite a name for himself with impressive performances throughout last season, and there are quite a few clubs interested in him. Meanwhile, the teenager has a price tag of £25 million.

While there is a lot of interest in the teenager’s services, West Ham are the only club that have made moves to sign him. The Hammers are in desperate need to sign multiple midfielders to fill the void left by the departure of their skipper Declan Rice.

The England international has agreed to join Arsenal in a big-money move. With the Gunners paying around £100 million for the 24-year-old, West Ham have received a major boost in their pursuit for reinforcement.

They have a shortlist of three players that they are looking to push for in order to fill the big boots of Rice. The Hammers have thus their eyes set on Denis Zakaria, Joao Palhinha, and Alex Scott.

Bridge said: “So, the names I’ve been given, alongside my colleagues, are Denis Zakaria at Juventus, Joao Palhinha at Fulham, who I think is a fantastic midfielder, and Alex Scott from Bristol City. Several Premier League clubs have watched him.

Scott joined Bristol back in the winter of 2020. And in just 18 months’ time, the teenager was promoted to their first team. He has since featured in 91 matches and has also been involved in 13 goals. In the recently-concluded season, Scott was named the Championship’s Young Player of the Season, demonstrating the Bristol midfielders’ potential ability.

The England Under-20 star has displayed exceptional skills on the pitch, and he has amazed everyone with his versatility. His performances have caught the eyes of David Moyes, who wants to have him at his disposal before the start of the pre-season.

West Ham have already held talks with the representatives of the 19-year-old as they look to land him at the club. And, as per the report, a fee of around £25 million could be enough to prise him away from Bristol where he has a contract until the summer of 2025. With the Hammers keen on reinforcing their midfield, it will be interesting to see if they can manage to sign the 19-year-old.
