Manchester United are expected to complete the signing of 27-year-old Inter Milan shot-stopper Andre Onana within 72 hours.

According to Gazzetta Dello Sport via Sport Witness, Manchester are all set to complete the signing of Andre Onana. The Red Devils have been in negotiations with Inter Milan of late and they are all set to finalise the deal within the next 72 hours.

The report suggests that a deal will be complete by Wednesday and David de Gea’s official departure has played an important role in accelerating Onana’s transfer to United. The Red Devils are all set to have a new number one for the first time in 12 years.

De Gea’s contract at the club has run out and despite attempts from the club, they have failed to extend his stay. The Spain international leaves as a free agent after having served the club for over a decade. His departure was almost certain more than a week back and United have been pushing for a new goalkeeper since.

They had their eyes on Onana while they were negotiating with De Gea and once his departure became a possibility, the Red Devils started to up the ante. While the negotiations have been on for a while, the report states that the Spanish international’s official departure has fast-tracked the transfer and United are ready to meet Inter Milan’s demands.

Majority of the deal is already complete with Inter all set to make over €50 million including bonuses from the sale of the 27-year-old shot-stopper. The Italian giants were in desperate need of funds and they have surely done some fantastic business with the sale of the former Ajax star having signed him for free a year back.

Meanwhile, Manchester United are all set to acquire an absolutely sensational player who has been in the form of his life over the past 12 months. He was one of the main reasons for Inter’s dominance in the Champions League last season. And, his arrival at United will surely help them push for major titles once again.

With Onana ready to part ways, Inter have their eyes set on Anatolij Trubin, Yann Sommer and Hugo Lloris as potential replacements for the 27-year-old.
