Inter Milan to begin official negotiations for Romelu Lukaku, ready to offer €30 million

Inter Milan will begin official negotiations with Chelsea next week for the services of 30-year-old striker Romelu Lukaku.

According to a report by Calciomercato.com, Inter Milan are keen on acquiring the services of Romelu Lukaku. And official negotiations with Chelsea will begin next week. Meanwhile, the Blues do not consider the 30-year-old a part of their plan moving ahead and are ready to sell.

Chelsea acquired Lukaku’s services in the summer of 2021 from Inter Milan in a big money move. However, things did not go according to plan as the Belgian forward failed to fire. And, ahead of the 2022/23 season, he was loaned back to the Serie A club.

While Lukaku was not a regular starter for the Serie A giants in the recently-concluded season, he surely managed to impress Simone Inzaghi. The Inter Milan boss is currently on the lookout for a new number nine, and he is keen on having the Belgian international back at the club but this time on a permanent basis.

Meanwhile, Inter have been in talks with Lukaku’s lawyer Sebastien Ledure who is also the Blues’ intermediary for this deal. They have been in talks to bring down the difference in price between the two clubs in order to ensure a transfer takes place as soon as possible.

Inter are well aware of the fact that they will have to propose a better offer when they meet Chelsea for official negotiations. As a result, they are considering putting forward an offer of €35 million and are looking to close the deal within €40 million.

While the Belgian international still has three years left on his deal with Chelsea, the English club are desperate to get him off their books and they might agree to a deal close to €40 million. With the player keen on the move, an agreement should be reached between both parties in the near future.
