Real Madrid are reportedly interested in signing 18-year-old Real Valladolid defender Ivan Fresneda, a target for Barcelona.
According to Adrian Sanchez, Real Madrid have sounded out the representatives of Ivan Fresneda regarding a potential summer move. The 18-year-old is also a target for Barcelona.
Fresneda has been linked with a move to the Premier League as well in recent weeks, and it remains to be seen whether Real Madrid can secure his services. Apparently, the defender is on the transfer radar of rivals Barcelona as well. It will be interesting to see if the Catalan giants can compete with Real Madrid for his services.
There is no doubt that Real Madrid need to bring in a quality right-back, and Fresneda would be a superb long-term investment. Interestingly, the teenage sensation has previously been a part of Real Madrid’s La Fabrica setup.
The 18-year-old showed his qualities in La Liga this past season and has the pedigree to thrive at a big club. Real Madrid need a quality long-term option in the right-back department. So the 18-year-old certainly fits the profile.

Carlo Ancelotti has had to use makeshift options in that position, and someone like Fresneda could sort out the Real Madrid right-back department for the foreseeable future. The defender could be available for a reasonable price this summer. And Real Madrid certainly have the financial resources to get the deal done.
The opportunity to move to Santiago Bernabeu can be hard to turn down for any player, and the 18-year-old is likely to be tempted as well. Fresneda is already a reliable defender for Real Valladolid at 18 and he is only going to get better with coaching and experience.
The 18-year-old defender will want to join a club where he will get ample first-team action next season. He cannot afford to sit on the bench at a big club. So it will be interesting to see if Real Madrid are willing to give him the necessary game-time assurances ahead of a potential move.
Regular football at the Spanish club will help Fresneda develop as a footballer and fulfil his tremendous potential. But with Barcelona hot on his heels, the young Spaniard has a big decision to make thiss ummer.
Real Madrid have shown a willingness to invest in talented young players in recent seasons, helping players like Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo develop into top-class players. Fresneda will be hoping to follow in their footsteps and establish himself as one of the best players in La Liga over the next few seasons.
