Manchester United offered the chance to sign Sofyan Amrabat

Manchester United have been offered the chance to acquire the services of 26-year-old Fiorentina midfielder Sofyan Amrabat.

According to a report by 90min, Manchester United have been offered an opportunity to sign Sofyan Amrabat for just £30 million. The Red Devils have been looking to bolster their squad ahead of next season and they could acquire the 26-year-old Fiorentina midfielder for a bargain price.

Amrabat has been the talk of the town for a while now. The 26-year-old had an exceptional FIFA World Cup 2022 with the Moroccan national team. He was one of the main reasons for Morocco’s incredible run in the World Cup as they became the first African nation to reach the semi-finals.

Post his heroics in the World Cup, quite a few clubs have been monitoring him. A few even tried to sign him back in January but their bids were rejected. After the World Cup, he carried on his good form and guided Fiorentina to the Coppa Italia and UEFA Conference League final.

With his contract set to expire in the summer of 2024, the Italian club is ready to sell him in the ongoing summer. They do not want to risk losing out on him for free. However, they do not intend to lower their asking price of £30 million.

Diego Simeone’s Atletico Madrid are keen on having Amrabat in their ranks. The Argentine manager believes the Moroccan international has all the qualities needed to fit into his system and his exceptional work rate could do wonders for the Madrid-based club.

They have already agreed personal terms with the player but are yet to strike a deal with the club. As a result, other clubs still have an opportunity to sign him. United have been offered a chance to sign him and they are considering the option.

However, their priority is to sign a new number nine and a goalkeeper at this point in time. They have already spent £55 million on Mason Mount and can’t really afford to push for another midfielder as they don’t have a big enough purse to play with.

Meanwhile, Liverpool were one of the clubs that tried to sign the 26-year-old back in January but failed to strike a deal with the club. They have asked to be kept informed about the situation of the player but haven’t followed up on their interest of late.
