Feyenoord are keen to sign 26-year-old Liverpool defender Nat Phillips, valued at £10 million this summer.

According to The Athletic, Feyenoord are exploring the idea of signing Nat Phillips this summer. The unwanted Liverpool defender may get sold if the club receives an offer close to their £10 million valuation, as Jurgen Klopp could eye a new centre-back.

Nat Phillips showed his quality for Liverpool a few seasons ago when they had massive injuries to their backline. The 26-year-old defender played many games during that campaign as he played cover to some key stars missing through problems.

Beyond that, the defender has been used sparingly by Jurgen Klopp, who may sanction a sale in the current window. Phillips was kept on board last season, playing only five times, all off the bench.

Liverpool are already linked with Goncalo Inacio and Perr Schuurs, with the arrival of either star could further limit Phillips’ participation. Klopp could sanction a sale if the club receives offers close to their £10 million valuation, with several clubs thought to hold decent interest.

Galatasaray were keen in January, but Liverpool decided to keep hold of the 26-year-old, but he might leave now. Feyenoord are the latest side to show an interest in Phillips, with the Eredivisie champions keen to strengthen following their success last season.

Phillips, at 26, has come to a stage in his career where he might want to play regularly wherever he joins. The 26-year-old Liverpool defender might prefer a move to an English side, preferably in the Premier League, but there are few options.

Feyenoord could become a concrete option, for they can provide him with Champions League football next season. He could also form part of a team that might fight to retain their Eredivisie title. Galatasaray and the likes could also re-enter the race for the defender, but Phillips might prefer a move nearby rather than going to Turkey.

Overall, a move away from Liverpool seems imminent, as the club will consider a sale with the defender’s contract expiring in 2025. Feyenoord could use him properly if he arrives, but they will look to sign him on a reduced price than Liverpool’s current £10 million valuation.
