Crystal Palace are keen on acquiring the services of the 26-year-old Newcastle United forward Allan Saint-Maximin.

According to a report by 90min, Crystal Palace are keen on having Allan Saint-Maximin in their ranks ahead of next season. The 26-year-old forward has fallen down in the pecking order at Newcastle United, and he could be on his way out in the ongoing summer.

Saint-Maximin has been a part of the Magpies since the summer of 2019. He has featured in a total of 124 matches and has a total of 34 goal contributions. While he was one of their star players back in the day, the 26-year-old is way down the pecking order as of now given the number of star players they have signed over the past few windows.

In the 2021/22 season, he featured in a total of 37 matches and was on the pitch for over 2,900 minutes. In comparison, he featured in just 31 matches last season and was on the pitch for less than 1,400 minutes. The 26-year-old was only handed 12 starts in the Premier League.

The difference in the number of minutes played over the last two seasons suggests that he is no longer an important part of Eddie Howe’s setup. While his contract at the club runs until the summer of 2026, there are no plans of extending it and they are open to the idea of offloading him for the right price.

With the Magpies ready to take part in the Champions League next season, they are looking to bolster their squad. They have already acquired Sandro Tonali from AC Milan and are looking to make a few more signings. However, Newcastle United want to ensure they comply with Financial Fair Play regulations.

As a result, they are looking to offload a few of their players and Saint-Maximin’s departure will surely bring in a decent amount. Meanwhile, Crystal Palace are one of the clubs interested in the 26-year-old’s services. The Eagles finished 11th last time out and are looking to work on it with attacking reinforcement.

With Wilfried Zaha out of contract, they are looking for a potential replacement. Callum Hudson-Odoi is one of the targets, but Saint-Maximin seems to be an ideal replacement. However, it will be interesting to see if they can prize him away from the Magpies.

Meanwhile, there is interest from Saudi Pro League clubs in the 26-year-old’s services, and they could win the race for his services given the involvement of PIF who own Newcastle United as well as four SPL clubs.
