Manchester United are reportedly looking to sign 32-year-old German international goalkeeper Kevin Trapp this summer.

A report from Daily Mirror claims that Manchester United are weighing up different options to strengthen their goalkeeping position. And Kevin Trapp happens to be one of the players on their shortlist. The 32-year-old goalkeeper will be available for a fee of around £10 million this summer.

Trapp has proven himself for club and country over the years, and he could prove to be a solid acquisition for Manchester United. The Red Devils will have to bring in a quality replacement for David de Gea after the Spanish goalkeeper’s contract expired with the club.

He was expected to sign a contract renewal with the Red Devils, but an agreement has not been reached between the two parties. There is still a probability of Manchester United re-signing the Spaniard on a free transfer, and it remains to be seen how the situation develops.

Meanwhile, Manchester United have been linked with other goalkeepers like Justin Bijlow and Andre Onana. Trapp has done well for Eintracht Frankfurt this past season, and he could be keen on a different adventure at this stage of his career.

A move to Manchester United would give him the opportunity to showcase his qualities in the Premier League next season. The 32-year-old is at the peak of his powers and could be the ideal first-choice option for the Red Devils in goal.

Manchester United will be hoping to compete for major trophies next season, and they will look to push their crosstown rivals for the Premier League title. They need an experienced goalkeeper to keep things tight at the back and Trapp has the experience to play for a big club.

Onana would be an excellent acquisition as well. But the Inter Milan goalkeeper is likely to cost a lot more. Apparently, he is valued at around £55 million. On the other hand, Trapp would be a cheap acquisition, and he could prove to be a valuable option for Erik ten Hag in the coming seasons.

Manchester United are one of the biggest clubs in the world, and they will be an attractive destination for most players. It remains to be seen whether they can get the necessary reinforcements before the window closes.
