Manchester United table bid to sign Andre Onana

Manchester United have made an offer to Inter Milan for Andre Onana, but their €45 million plus bonuses proposal falls short of the asking price.

According to Alfredo Pedulla, Manchester United have made their first bid for Andre Onana as they step in their chase for the goalkeeper. The Red Devils have submitted a proposal worth €45 million plus €5-6 million in bonuses. But Inter Milan want €50 million plus easy add-ons.

The goalkeeping situation at Manchester United continues to baffle their supporters after what transpired recently. The Red Devils entered the transfer market looking for a new keeper. But Erik ten Hag hoped to renew David de Gea’s contract.

While reports pointed towards the Spaniard leaving the club on a free transfer, the reality of the situation was completely different. As it turned out, de Gea had reportedly signed the new agreement, only for Manchester United to pull out of the offer in the eleventh hour.

While a few claim the situation could still be resolved, Manchester United are already preparing for life without their ever-present Spaniard. Erik ten Hag has already identified a solid replacement in the form of his former protege at Ajax, Andre Onana.

After a brief period of links with Chelsea, Manchester United seem destined to land the 27-year-old target from Inter Milan. The Serie A giants are open to a sale as the funds generated will help them balance their unruly book.

Inter Milan reportedly want €60 million to sanction the sale. But Manchester United had indicated they could come close to €50 million. The Red Devils are not exactly flush with cash this time, with Ten Hag having to select his preferred targets carefully.

While Manchester United contemplated making a bid in the last few days, they have submitted their first offer to Inter Milan. The Red Devils have offered €45 million plus €5-6 million in bonuses. Inter Milan are likely to reject or make a counteroffer.

Alfredo Pedulla suggested Inter Milan wanted €50 million in guaranteed fees and then easy add-ons on top. The feeling is that the Serie A giants want close to their original €60 million asking price and will not agree on anything less.

Manchester United are willing to have thorough talks over this move as Ten Hag wants the 27-year-old target. For now, talks could continue between the two sides; although they are not too far from reaching an agreement, the Red Devils will have to raise their offer.
