Tottenham Hotspur winger Ivan Perisic is reportedly closing in on a move away from the club this summer.

According to a report from Fichajes, the 34-year-old Croatian international is one step away from leaving the club. Fenerbahce and clubs from Saudi Arabia are reportedly interested in signing him.

Perisic has been linked with a return to his former club Inter Milan. Antonio Conte signed the player during his time at the club and the Italian manager’s departure seems to have had an impact on the player’s future.

Although he has a contract with Tottenham for another season, he is looking to move on this summer.

Perisic was a useful player for Tottenham last season and he picked up 12 assists across all competitions. Mostly deployed as a wing-back, the 34-year-old can operate as a winger as well.

He has proven himself at the highest level for club and country and he could’ve been a useful option for Ange Postecoglou next season.

Tottenham will be looking to bounce back strongly and come qualify for the Champions League. They will certainly need players of his quality and experience in order to do well next year.

Tottenham are already lacking in quality and depth in the left-back department and the departure of Perisic will only weaken them further.

Ryan Sessegnon and Ben Davies are the only left-back options at the club right now. That said, talented, youngster Destiny Udogie is set to arrive at the club after his long spell at Udinese.

It remains to be seen whether Postecoglou can get the most out of his current options and fill the void left by Perisic. It remains to be seen where the 34-year-old ends up.

He arrived at Tottenham on a free transfer, and Spurs are likely to let him leave for cheap. Despite being 34, he is good enough to play for top clubs and he could be a useful option.

Meanwhile, Tottenham will have to strengthen their squad significantly this summer. They have already signed Guglielmo Vicario and James Maddison. They must look to improve the defensive options before the transfer window closes.

Too old for the new Spurs.
3 current options at LB surely is enough. Davies, Mr reliable, Sessegnon, Mr potential not yet fulfilled, Udogie, Mr exciting.
