Galatasaray are keen on acquiring the services of 23-year-old Arsenal full-back Nuno Tavares in the ongoing summer.

According to Yeniçağ Gazetesi, Galatasaray are looking to push for the services of Nuno Tavares. The 23-year-old Arsenal full-back’s future is uncertain, and the Turkish club are interested in having him in their ranks. Meanwhile, talks between the two clubs are lined up.

Tavares came through the ranks at Benfica before making a move to Arsenal back in the summer of 2021. The Portuguese wide man joined them with a lot of expectations. But things have not gone according to plan for him.

He has failed to establish himself as an important first-team player and has only featured in a total of 28 matches. With Oleksandr Zinchenko’s arrival at the club last summer, the Portuguese full-back went further down the pecking order. And, he was sent out on loan to Marseille before the start of the 2022/23 season.

The 23-year-old had an impressive loan spell at the French club. He featured in a total of 39 matches and was on the pitch for over 3,000 minutes. Tavares made quite an impact and also contributed with six assists.

His impressive performances have attracted a lot of attention. The 23-year-old is on the radar of multiple clubs across Europe, and Arsenal are ready to sell for the right price. Despite his impressive performances in the recently-concluded season, Tavares cannot break into the Gunners’ first team.

Arsenal already have Zinchenko and Kieran Tierney in their ranks. The 23-year-old is surplus to requirements, and Galatasaray could be a potential destination for him. With the Turkish club interested in having the full-back in their ranks, they have already started making moves.

Sportif A.Ş. is an agency that manages transfers for Galatasaray. And, their Deputy Chairman Erden Timur has travelled to England recently to negotiate potential transfers. Timur will hold talks with Arsenal as they look to sign the 23-year-old. Galatasaray are in search of a new left-sided full-back and Tavares seems to be a great fit.

Given the kind of business the Turkish club has done of late, there is a high possibility that they could lure the Portugal Under-21 star to their club. But, it might depend on Arsenal’s asking price for his services.
