Liverpool value Federico Chiesa at €40 million

Liverpool are reportedly keen on acquiring the services of 25-year-old Juventus winger Federico Chiesa ahead of next season.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport via Sport Witness, Liverpool would love to have Federico Chiesa in their ranks. Their manager Jurgen Klopp is a big fan of the player and is keen on having him at his disposal. But, they are not ready to meet the asking price of Juventus and value him at €40 million.

Chiesa has made quite a name for himself over the past few seasons with impressive performances, but injuries have hampered his progress. The 25-year-old who has been at Juventus since October 2020 has not had the best of times of late.

Injuries kept him out of 20 matches in the recently-concluded season. The Italian international featured in a total of 33 matches but was on the pitch for just under 1,500 minutes. He still managed to contribute towards ten goals.

While his contract with Juventus runs until the summer of 2025, Chiesa is seriously considering his future and he could be on the move in the ongoing summer. The Old Lady wanted to extend his stay at the club but they can’t afford his wage demands. The 25-year-old currently earns around €5 million and wants around €8 million to pen down a new deal.

Meanwhile, Chiesa’s relationship with Massimiliano Allegri is not that great, and he does not really fit into his 3-5-2 system. The Italian international can feature as a second striker or a wing-back in the 3-5-2 formation, which is not his natural position.

He prefers playing out wide as a winger and moving elsewhere could help. Meanwhile, Liverpool are ready to have him in their ranks. Jurgen Klopp is a big fan of the player and has great respect for the 25-year-old. He is ready to offer him the left-wing position at the club.

While they do not have Champions League football for next season, their history can help them attract the Italian international. But, there is a slight problem, Juventus are seeking €60 million for his services, but Liverpool only value him at €40 million.

The Merseyside club are not ready to go beyond €40 million. They have a lot of signings to take care of and cannot afford to overpay for any player. As a result, it will be interesting to see if they can strike a deal with Juventus at a lower price.
