Manchester United have held talks with the representatives of 21-year-old Brighton midfielder Moises Caicedo ahead of a potential transfer.

According to The Athletic, Manchester United are keen on acquiring the services of Moises Caicedo. The 21-year-old defensive midfielder is one of the most sought-after players at this point in time, and the Red Devils are making moves to secure his signatures.

Erik ten Hag’s reign at Manchester United is off to a great start. The Dutch manager guided them to a trophy and managed to finish inside the top four in his very first season at the club. With Champions League football secured, Ten Hag has now shifted his focus towards strengthening his squad.

While Manchester United’s priority is to sign a new number nine, the former Ajax boss also wants to bolster his midfield. He is looking to sign a defensive midfielder who can pair up with Casemiro in the centre of the park along with a creative midfielder.

As far as the defensive midfielder is concerned, the Red Devils have their eyes set on Brighton’s Moises Caicedo. The 21-year-old has been the talk of the town for almost a year now. He is on the radar of some of the biggest clubs in England. And, there could be a bidding war for his services.

Arsenal and Chelsea have been interested in the Ecuadorian international for a while now. The Gunners even had multiple bids rejected back in January as the Seagulls were not ready to part ways with him midway through the season.

Post that, he even penned down a new contract with the club. However, he is still available in the market for the right price. And, the Red Devils are trying to win the race for his signatures. He has all the qualities to form a deadly partnership with Casemiro and pushing for him does make sense.

The Red Devils have already held talks with the player’s representatives. They are trying to agree on personal terms with Caicedo before holding talks with the club. While Manchester United are keen on having him, there is a lot of competition for the 21-year-old, and it won’t be an easy task by any means.
