Arsenal battle Liverpool, Barcelona, Real Madrid for Arda Guler

Arsenal were among the clubs to watch Arda Guler in action recently as they are ready to battle several top sides for the 18-year-old.

According to TEAMtalk, Arsenal have become the latest side to enter the chase for Arda Guler. Liverpool, Real Madrid and Barcelona are among the few teams vying for the 18-year-old’s signature, as Fenerbahce are yet to give up on convincing him to stay put.

Arda Guler has become one of the sensational talents to come out of Turkey in recent years. His mature performances at the tender age of 18 have prompted the interest of several top-level teams from the continent. After a thorough break into the first team, the youngster has made a big mark.

So much so that Fenerbahce rue the existing details of his contract and remains eager to tie him up on a new deal. Fabrizio Romano recently confirmed a low release clause worth €17.5 million in Guler’s contract, which became active after the 18-year-old played more than 1500 minutes last season.

Once the news became public, some top-notch clubs queued up to secure the 18-year-old’s signature. Barcelona were pushing to sign Guler ahead of their rivals, but Real Madrid are also interested. However, the biggest admiration comes from England, where some of the biggest teams are vying to bring Guler to the Premier League.

Arsenal have now joined the chase for Guler as Mikel Arteta continues to search for exciting talents for his squad. The Gunners have the youngest team in the Premier League, and like last summer, they could add to their talent pool with a move for the 18-year-old.

With a modest price tag of €17.5 million, the Gunners are in a strong position to invest without hurting their priority pursuits. Guler could benefit from a move here as he could get ample minutes and learn from some of the best-attacking talents in north London.

Liverpool also hold interest and could go strongly to sign Guler. Jurgen Klopp might see the Turkish prodigy as a direct replacement for Fabio Carvalho, who will join RB Leipzig on a loan move. But will the the Liverpool manager afford to give him plenty of minutes in the new season?

There are others like Tottenham and Newcastle United pushing for Guler in this window. Meanwhile, Fenerbahce will try to extend his deal again and include a higher release clause. However, the teenager will think hard before deciding on his future, as these many chances may not come if there’s a slight dip in performances.
