Liverpool are leading the race for the signatures of the 25-year-old Juventus star forward Federico Chiesa.

As reported by Sport Witness, Liverpool are keen on having Federico Chiesa in their ranks ahead of next season. The 25-year-old’s future at Juventus is uncertain and he could be on the move in the ongoing summer.

Chiesa initially joined Juventus on loan back in October 2020. The move was made permanent ahead of the 2022/23 season. The 25-year-old has gone from strength to strength since joining the Old Lady. While injuries have been a major roadblock in his progress, Chiesa has managed to bounce back time and again.

In the recently concluded season, he could only manage 10 goal contributions in his 33 outings. The Italian international might not have had the best of times of late but he surely has it in him to turn things around and there are a lot of clubs willing to bet on him.

Chelsea are one of the clubs interested in his services. The Blues have struggled in front of goal in the recently concluded season. And, their new manager Mauricio Pochettino is keen on reinforcing his attack ahead of next season. He is a big fan of the Italian winger and would love to have him at his disposal.

But, according to the report, the Blues are behind Liverpool in the race for his signatures. The Merseyside club struggled in the 2022/23 season and they are ready to make major changes to their squad in order to revive themselves. Their major focus is on rebuilding the midfield but Jurgen Klopp is also looking for a new forward.

The German manager is a big fan of Chiesa and wants him at the club ahead of next season. He wants Liverpool to push as hard as possible to acquire the 25-year-old. Meanwhile, Juventus are interested in Galatasaray’s Nicolo Zaniolo and could part ways with the Italian international in order to make room for the 23-year-old.

Liverpool have already started making moves. They have contacted Chiesa’s agent Fali Ramadani. And, are ready to put forward a bid of around €40 to €45 million for his services. The Italian international wants his salary to be increased from €5 million to €8 million a year. But, Juventus can’t afford to meet his demands.

Meanwhile, Jurgen Klopp’s team are ready to give him the deal that he wants. However, Juventus are looking to recover the €60 million they initially spent on the Italian international. And, they might reject the initial bid of around €40-45 million.
