Newcastle United are reportedly interested in acquiring the services of the 25-year-old AC Milan full-back Theo Hernandez.

According to Gianluca Di Marzio, Newcastle United want to sign Theo Hernandez ahead of next season. The Magpies are keen on strengthening their squad ahead of next season, and the 25-year-old AC Milan full-back is one of their targets.

The Magpies had a sensational 2022/23 season, as they ended up finishing inside the top four and qualified for the Champions League. While Eddie Howe’s men were performing on a consistent basis, he has managed to identify a few key areas that needed reinforcement.

The English manager wants to strengthen his midfield as well as his defence ahead of next season. As far as the midfield is concerned, he has had his eyes on AC Milan defensive midfielder Sandro Tonali.

Their managing director Dan Ashworth travelled to Milan to hold talks with the Italian giants, and he has managed to strike a deal for the 23-year-old. While his primary focus was on the midfielder, Ashworth was also supposed to hold talks with Inter Milan for Federico Dimarco as Newcastle United look to strengthen their defence.

The Magpies are keen on signing a new left-sided full-back and have their eyes on Dimarco as well as AC Milan’s Theo Hernandez. The 25-year-old AC Milan left-back is amongst the best in the world, and the Magpies would love to have him in their ranks.

Despite not being at his best in the 2022/23 season, the French international managed to contribute towards nine goals in his 45 outings. Eddie Howe believes the French international could help him take the next step and compete in both the Premier League and the UCL.

However, the Magpies are well aware of the fact that it won’t be easy to prise him away from Milan given how important he is to them. And, the fact that Atletico Madrid are ready to fight it out for his services makes the chase even tougher.

Hernandez came through the ranks at Atletico, and he could prefer rejoining them over Newcastle United if Milan are ready to let him leave. As a result, it will be interesting to see if the Magpies can full yet another incredible transfer.
