Arsenal prepared to listen to offers for Eddie Nketiah

Arsenal are ready to part ways with 24-year-old striker Eddie Nketiah as they look to reinforce their squad ahead of next season.

According to a report by The Independent, Arsenal could sell Eddie Nketiah ahead of the 2023/24 season. While the 24-year-old produced quite a few impressive performances in the recently-concluded season, he could still be shown the exit door as the club plan to reinforce their squad.

Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal were leading the Premier League title race right until the end. But they ran out of gas in the final stages. While the Gunners have come a long way under the Spanish manager, they still have a long way to go.

Arteta is keen on taking the next step in the upcoming season, and he has identified areas that need strengthening. The Arsenal manager wants to sign a world-class midfielder, forward as well as full-back. Arteta is looking to spend around £200 million in the summer.

While the Spanish manager is keen on signing new players, he first needs to take care of his existing squad and sell players to raise funds. The 41-year-old has prepared a list of players that he is looking to offload. And Eddie Nketiah is a part of it.

The 24-year-striker had a decent 2022/23 season with the Gunners’ first team. He featured in a total of 39 matches and had 12 goal contributions. Nketiah was on the pitch for under 1900 minutes and still managed to score nine goals and provided three assists.

Despite having a good enough impact, his Arsenal future is uncertain. While his contract runs until the summer of 2027, the Arsenal graduate could be on his way out. Nketiah is keen on having more minutes under his belt next season.

So moving to another club could help his cause. With the 24-year-old capable enough to play on either flank as well as a number nine, acquiring could bolster the majority of teams across Europe. Even Folarin Balogun is a part of Arteta’s transfer list following updates over crunch talks.

With the Gunners set to sign Kai Havertz, they are ready to let go of either Eddie Nketiah or Folarin Balogun. Their future might depend on who attracts the bigger bid as Arsenal will look to keep one of them as a backup option.
