Manchester United can seal Rasmus Hojlund deal for €60 million

Manchester United can reportedly land 16-goal star Rasmus Hojlund for €60 million as rumours of a higher price tag rubbished.

According to Corriere di Bergamo via Sport Witness, Manchester United could sign Rasmus Hojlund for €60 million. Atalanta could sell their ‘prized’asset’ for the sum as rumours of a €100 million asking price were seemingly rubbished in the report.

Manchester United’s need for a top-draw striker is not a secret anymore. Having flirted with the idea of signing a top-level name well before the window opened, the Red Devils are struggling to gather funds.

Harry Kane and Victor Osimhen were the early targets for Erik ten Hag. As the window has progressed, Manchester United got priced out of deals for the star duo. The manager is now looking at a different option altogether.

That has come in the form of Rasmus Hojlund, who has seen his name linked consistently with Manchester United over the past weeks. The Danish forward has a low asking price compared to Osimhen or Kane. Yet, he lacks experience of the duo, which may raise doubts over his role as the club’s first-choice striker.

In an ideal world, Manchester United would have readily signed the 16-goal star as a second-choice striker. But the circumstances have changed financially, which has made the Danish star their first choice. The Red Devils reportedly saw a bid rejected by Atalanta, although media outlets in Italy are still speculating whether it was them.

A €35 million proposal went about doing the rounds. But recent reports suggested Atalanta demands €100 million for their 16-goal star. The present story rubbishes that rumour and insists it would take Manchester United about €60 million to land Hojlund.

Manchester United’s financial status remains unclear, and they have started this window slowly. They continue to chase Mason Mount as their priority target and could make a second bid for the Chelsea star.

In the present conditions, there are question marks about their ability to pay €60 million for Hojlund. They might even wait for another opening for Kane, but it does look unlikely that the Tottenham star would move out. Hence, the Danish star is a likely target.
