Donny van de Beek is all set to part ways with Manchester United after another disappointing season in England.

According to Fabrizio Romano via GIVEMESPORT, Donny van de Beek has decided to leave Manchester United. The 26-year-old has had another disappointing season at Old Trafford and has decided to look for greener pastures elsewhere.

Van de Beek joined United back in the summer of 2020 after impressing one and all with consistent performances for Ajax in the Dutch league and the Champions League.

The Dutch international made quite a name for himself while playing for Ajax and his big-money move to the Red Devils came with a lot of expectations. But, he failed to live up to the expectations. Despite being at the club for almost three seasons, he has hardly had any impact and has also struggled with injuries.

The 26-year-old was expected to get an extended run under the leadership of Erik ten Hag who had taken charge of the club ahead of the 2022-23 season. But, things didn’t go according to plan and even injuries did not help his cause. He was on the pitch for under 300 minutes in his total 10 appearances.

Despite having a contract at Old Trafford that runs until the summer of 2025, the former Ajax midfielder is expected to leave in the summer. He is surplus to requirements at Manchester United and Ten Hag won’t stand in his way.

Romano on Van de Beek’s future: “The idea of the player is probably, after the injuries he had, to leave and try a new experience where he will play regular football.

“It was not an easy decision, but he’s almost made it. I think he’s going to leave the club this summer.”

As per reports, the Red Devils will let him leave for a few of around £25 million. Meanwhile, Ajax have registered interest in the 26-year-old’s services.

The Dutch club are willing to re-sign him as they believe he can return to his best in familiar surroundings. As a result, they are ready to bet on the Dutch international.

With United ready to sell and Ajax looking to strengthen their midfield, a return to his childhood club is on the cards. However, there are a few other clubs that are interested in the 26-year-old.
