Everton are reportedly reportedly keen on signing Ainsley Maitland-Niles in a Bosman move following his departure from Arsenal.

Ainsley Maitland-Niles will be a free agent at the end of this month, and he will not renew his contract with Arsenal. And as per Football Transfers, Everton are hoping to complete a Bosman move for the English utility man.

The player was on loan at Southampton this past season to secure ample first-team action. While he managed to impress from time to time, Southampton failed to secure safety in the Premier League. It appears that Everton are now prepared to provide him with an exit route.

Maitland-Niles is versatile enough to play as a right-sided full-back as well as a central midfielder. Everton could certainly use a utility player like him, and he would get plenty of opportunities under Sean Dyche.

The Toffees are going through financial pressure. So signing the Arsenal utility man in a Bosman move could prove to be a smart bit of business. Maitland-Niles needs to play regularly at this stage of his career and will seek first-team assurances from the Toffees. He cannot afford to join a club where he might not be a regular starter. It remains to be seen how the situation unfolds.

Everton are reportedly looking to raid Leeds United following their relegation as well. Players like Jack Harrison and Wilfried Gnonto are reportedly on their radar. The Toffees have been fighting relegation over the last couple of seasons and a club of their stature deserves better.

They are clearly looking to improve their squad significantly and it remains to be seen whether they can get the deals done. Everton have shown improvement since the arrival of Dyche, and they will be expected to do better next season.

Players like Maitland-Niles could certainly improve the side and help Everton push for a mid-table finish. The versatile Arsenal player will be hoping to play in the top flight next season, and the opportunity to join Everton will be enticing for him.

Signing him in a Bosman move would allow Everton to invest their resources in the other areas of the squad as well, and the transfer could look like a smart piece of business in the long run. For now, Maitland-Niles seems to be leaving Arsenal soon.
