Arsenal are pushing hard to acquire the services of West Ham United midfielder Declan Rice amid interest from Bayern Munich.

According to Florian Plettenberg, Arsenal are keen on acquiring the services of Declan Rice. The 24-year-old midfielder has been on their radar for a long while now, and they are desperate to have him at their disposal ahead of next season. Meanwhile, the move to sign the priority target has advanced.

The Gunners have been involved in a transfer tussle with Bayern Munich for the services of the England international. However, it seems they are ahead of the German giants at this point in time. Arsenal are confident that they acquire the West Ham midfielders in the coming weeks.

Mikel Arteta has done wonders since taking charge of Arsenal. He has transformed them into a winning unit. They were leading the title race right until the end but fell short by the barest of margins.

The Arsenal manager is now looking to bolster his squad to ensure that they can push for the league as well as the Champions League title next season. He wants to strengthen his midfield and has his eyes set on Rice.

The 24-year-old midfielder is amongst the best in his position and will surely help their cause. Despite having a contract with the Hammers that runs until the summer of 2024, it is certain that Rice will part ways with the club ahead of next season.

The England international has come through the ranks at West Ham, and he is all set to leave them after guiding them to the UEFA Europa Conference League title. The Gunners have been pushing for him for a while and even the player is keen on joining for the North London club.

However, Thomas Tuchel wants to bring the 24-year-old midfielder to Germany. The former Chelsea boss is a big fan of Rice and wants to sign him at Bayern. He believes the England international can help further strengthen their midfield and could easily slot into his system.

While Bayern are trying their best to lure Rice to Germany, his preference remains of playing in England. And, Arsenal are confident that they can pull off this transfer that will cost around £100 million. They are in advanced talks to strike a deal and are currently working on the next step.
