Manchester United recently made a verbal approach to RC Strasbourg for 19-year-old French youth international Habib Diarra.
According to Luca Bendoni, Habib Diarra is the subject of interest from Manchester United. The Red Devils have already approached RC Strasbourg to make a verbal offer worth €11 million. But the Ligue 1 outfit did not entertain the move for the 19-year-old, a target for other French clubs.
Habib Diarra is a native of Guediawaye in Senegal but settled down in France during his formative years. The teenage sensation began his youth career at FC Mulhouse before joining RC Strasbourg in 2018. And he has come leaps and bounds in the last half a decade, making his first-team debut as a 17-year-old in 2021.
The 19-year-old has made considerable progress since then and featured regularly for Strasbourg this past season. The French youth international turned out 31 times across all competitions while chipping in with three goals and three assists. And Diarra’s progress has not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of several high-profile clubs, including Manchester United.
Recent reports have also linked the teenage sensation with Tottenham Hotspur and Aston Villa. But the two Premier League clubs have not stepped up their efforts to sign him, unlike Manchester United. Luca Bendoni has suggested that the Red Devils have approached RC Strasbourg for the youngster.

Manchester United even submitted a verbal offer worth around €11 million. But RC Strasbourg did not entertain the approach and swiftly turned Manchester United down. Meanwhile, the French youth international is also a target for Marseille and Lens. So a summer move might be on the cards for the teenager.
Manchester United’s interest in the 19-year-old is understandable. While Casemiro has been a game-changing signing, the Brazilian international is on the wrong side of 30. But Diarra can also play as a box-to-box midfielder and possesses superb ball-carrying ability. So he can also become the ideal foil for Casemiro in the middle of the park.
Other midfielders, including Moises Caicedo, are also on Manchester United’s radar. But Diarra might be more approachable, considering the Red Devils have expensive targets on their shortlist. And it will be interesting to see if they approach RC Strasbourg again with a formal bid.
