Liverpool and Chelsea are reportedly keen on signing 19-year-old Gambian striker Adama Bojang this summer.
According to reputed English journalist Ed Aarons, Chelsea and Liverpool have been keeping tabs on talented 19-year-old striker Adama Bojang. And the two clubs will face competition from clubs like Crystal Palace, Eintracht Frankfurt, Wolves and RB Leipzig as well.
The player has been linked with Tottenham Hotspur in the past. Bojang currently plays for Steve Biko FC in Gambia, and he is likely to cost around €3 million this summer. The reported asking price is quite affordable for clubs like Liverpool and Chelsea. So the two clubs should look to pull off the transfer in the coming weeks.
Liverpool need to add more depth to their attack and the 19-year-old would be a solid long-term investment. Bojang is highly rated around European football, and he has the potential to develop into a key player for the Reds in the coming seasons.
Liverpool have done well to nurture talented young players into established first-team stars under Jurgen Klopp, and the 19-year-old could fulfil his potential at Anfield. Meanwhile, Chelsea are in need of attacking reinforcements as well. The Blues have struggled to score goals this season.
Top-five league clubs chasing Adama Bojang is no surprise after a breakout year, scoring six goals in ten games at the U-20 AFCON and U-20 World Cup, catching the eye with a dynamic centre-forward skillset. Although Chelsea need to bring in a reliable finisher and Bojang is not ready to lead the line for them yet, he could be a useful squad player for them. The reported €3 million asking price would be a major bargain. So it remains to be seen where he ends up.
The talented youngster needs to join a club where he will get a clear pathway to the first team and he will get ample first-team opportunities. If Liverpool and Chelsea cannot provide him with those assurances, he should look to join a mid-level club and continue his development with regular football.

If Bojang continues to perform at an impressive level in the coming seasons, he will have plenty of opportunities to join an elite club in the near future. But he cannot afford to stunt his development right now by sitting on the bench at a big club. Regular football will be crucial to him fulfilling his potential.
