Harry Kane is interested in joining Spanish giants Real Madrid, who are looking for a potential Karim Benzema replacement.

According to Rudy Galetti, Real Madrid are on the lookout for a potential replacement for their star striker Karim Benzema, who has left the club to join the Saudi Pro League champions Al-Ittihad. Los Blancos have identified Harry Kane as their main target and have been working on a potential deal.

Kane has been on their radar for a while now. And ever since Benzema’s departure was confirmed, Real Madrid have started making moves to land the Tottenham Hotspur star as the club. They have already held talks with the player’s agents over a potential deal.

As per Galetti, even the player has had a conversation with the Spanish club. Kane likes Madrid and would love to make a move to the club ahead of next season. Meanwhile, Kane’s contract with the Spurs expires in the summer of 2024. And, at this point in time, there are no talks of a contract extension. With only a year left in his deal, Real Madrid feel they can prise him away from the club.

Los Blancos feel Tottenham might not want to risk losing out on him for free and can accept a sizeable price tag. However, recent reports suggest Daniel Levy has no intention of selling his star striker irrespective of price.

Levy has done it in the past, as he stopped Kane from joining Manchester City a few seasons back when he was determined to not let him leave yet again, it is going to be a tough task for Real Madrid. But, with the player now keen on joining Los Blancos, Florentino Pérez might push harder to land the 29-year-old English striker at the club.

Kane is the highest goal scorer in Tottenham Hotspur history, and he has been putting in consistent performances over the past few seasons. He has scored 32 goals in his 49 outings in the 2022-23 season and could surely add a lot of goals to Carlo Ancelotti’s team. And REal Madrid are in talks with Tottenham over a possible deal.

The 29-year-old could be an ideal replacement for Benzema. As a result, it will be interesting to see if Perez can manage to bring his top target to Real Madrid ahead of next season. But Kane has also been a target for Manchester United. And it will be interesting to see if a summer move materialises.
