Liverpool’s €60 million bid to acquire the services of 23-year-old Aurelien Tchouameni has been rejected by Real Madrid.
According to Defensa Central, Liverpool were keen on acquiring the services of Aurelien Tchouameni but their bid has been rejected by Real Madrid. The 23-year-old is considered an integral part of Los Blancos’ first team setup and is not for sale irrespective of the €60 million offer.
Tchouameni made a name for himself while playing for AS Monaco in Ligue 1. His performances attracted a lot of attention and eventually, Real Madrid won the race for the 23-year-old. Los Blancos acquired his services ahead of the 2022/23 season.
The French international started off in fine fashion. But his form did deep in the second half of the season and he was not a preferred choice in the big games. The 23-year-old made a total of 50 appearances for the team in white, contributing with four assists. He was on the pitch for a total of 2,840 minutes. His contract with Real Madrid runs until the summer of 2028 and they consider him untouchable.
Meanwhile, Liverpool considered Tchouameni an important transfer target. Their manager Jurgen Klopp was keen on having him in their ranks, and the 23-year-old was his great objective for the summer.
After a disappointing 2022/23 season, the German manager is keen on rebuilding his midfield. He has already acquired the services of Alexis Mac Allister from Brighton and was now eyeing a potential move for the Real Madrid defensive midfielder Tchouameni.
The Merseyside club put forward a bid in excess of €60 million for the French international a couple of days back. But it has been rejected by Real Madrid. Florentino Pérez, the president of Los Blancos rejected the proposal straight away. The team in white consider the 23-year-old an important part of their future and are in no mood to discuss a potential sale.
As a result, Jurgen Klopp will have to shift his focus elsewhere. Meanwhile, the report suggest that this is not the first time a bid has arrived for a Real Madrid player and this won’t be the last. With the transfer window set to open in the coming weeks, Real Madrid are expected to be in the thick of things throughout.
