A PIF-led delegation are in London to make their official proposal to N’Golo Kante ahead of a high-profile move to Saudi Arabia.

According to Ben Jacobs, club officials as part of a PIF-led delegation have arrived in London to propose their offer to N’Golo Kante. The Chelsea fan favourite could leave Stamford Bridge imminently and sign for a Saudi Arabia club, which could be Al-Nassr or Al-Ittihad.

N’Golo Kante continues to inch closer to a move away from Chelsea as his contract nears its expiry date. There’s growing speculation that the Frenchman might follow some other high-profile names out of Europe and join one of the Saudi Arabian clubs.

Chelsea had initiated talks late in the season as they might have considered keeping the experienced Frenchman. However, with a sensational offer coming out of Saudi Arabia for his services, it may prove tempting for Kante to turn it down.

He’s not the only Premier League player to potentially join the Middle Eastern League. Tottenham’s Hugo Lloris is also a target for Saudi clubs and might depart in the summer. More high-profile names are linked with a move, including Lionel Messi, Karim Benzema and Luka Modric.

As for Kante, Ben Jacobs insists the club officials, as part of the PIF-led delegation, have arrived in London to make an official proposal to Kante. The journalist claimed one of Al-Nassr or Al-Ittihad could sign Kante in the coming days.

Al-Nassr had kept tabs on Kante since November and wanted to sign him during January. They might come across as favourites as the PIF-backed project kickstarts with full effect. As per Fabrizio Romano, PIF have offered Kante a sensational deal worth €100 million per season, inclusive of image rights and commercial deals. He also insists Al-Ittihad are the current favourite.

In any case, widespread reports insist a move seems imminent for Kante to join the Saudi league. The salaries mentioned dwarf what European or English clubs could offer, meaning there’s a growing temptation to make a move for Kante and others.

Whether Chelsea seriously considered extending his deal remains the question, although Kante will tremendously improve the Saudi football profile with his presence. Financially it’s a lucrative deal that will benefit the player in securing a solid future.
