RB Leipzig prepare fresh bid to sign Fabio Carvalho

RB Leipzig are preparing a second bid as they look to acquire the services of 21-year-old Liverpool midfielder Fabio Carvalho.

According to a report by Football Insider, RB Leipzig are keen on having Fabio Carvalho in their ranks. The German club are looking to add an attacking midfielder to the mix ahead of next season. And, they have their eyes set on the former Fulham player.

Leipzig presented an offer worth in excess of £10 million to Liverpool last month but it was rejected by the Merseyside club who are not looking to sell the 21-year-old. However, the German club are not willing to abandon their pursuit and they are preparing to once again push for the Portugal Under-21 star.

Carvalho came through the ranks at Fulham before joining Liverpool ahead of the 2022-23 season. Jurgen Klopp’s team paid £7.7 million to sign the 21-year-old who hasn’t had much to do in his first season at the club.

The Portuguese midfielder has featured in a total of 21 matches for the Liverpool senior team. He has been on the pitch for less than 700 minutes but has three goals to his name.

With Liverpool set to sign multiple midfielders in the summer, Carvalho is not in the plans of Jurgen Klopp for next season. However, people at the club are not interested in offloading him on a permanent basis at this point in time.

They are looking to loan him out in order to develop his potential and eventually, cash in on him. However, Leipzig are determined to test the Reds’ resolve with yet another bid for the 21-year-old.

The German club are looking to bolster their midfield ahead of next season and have their eyes on Carvalho. They are willing to put forward an improved bid for his services.

Meanwhile, even the player will be attracted by the idea of playing regularly in the Bundesliga and the Champions League rather than joining a relegation-battling side on loan. He would prefer following the footsteps of Jude Bellingham and Jadon Sancho.

While the Merseyside club are keen on sending him out on loan, they could be tempted to sell if Leipzig put forward the right deal. As a result, it will be interesting to see where the 21-year-old plays his football next season.
