Liverpool are interested in acquiring the services of 25-year-old Marcus Thuram as they look to replace Roberto Firmino.

According to a report by Fichajes, Liverpool are keen on having Marcus Thuram in their ranks. The 25-year-old is all set to part ways with Borussia Mönchengladbach after the end of the season. And, they believe he could be an ideal replacement for Roberto Firmino.

The Merseyside club have been on the look for a new forward ever since Firmino made it clear that he won’t be renewing his contract with the club. The Brazilian has decided to end his stay at the club and is looking for a new challenge.

His departure leaves a huge void at the club that needs to be filled before the next season gets underway. Meanwhile, Liverpool have identified Thuram as an ideal replacement.

The French international who joined Mönchengladbach back in the summer of 2019 has all the qualities to make up for the absence of Firmino. Thuram has been doing wonders for the German club and he has been a constant goal-scorer for them.

As far as the ongoing season is concerned, the 25-year-old has 23 goal contributions in his 32 outings. He has found the back of the net on 16 occasions and has seven assists to his name.

Thuram has been the mainstay of the German club’s attack but his time at the club is about to end. While Mönchengladbach were keen on extending his contract, the player is keen on trying a new challenge elsewhere and he will leave the club when his contract expires after the end of the season.

Meanwhile, the 25-year-old is a top priority for Liverpool as they look to replace Firmino. Thuram is someone who is physically strong and is a clinical finisher. On top of that, he can play as a striker as well as a winger.

And, the fact that he will be available for free is a great attraction for the Merseyside club. Replacing the Brazilian would have easily cost them a fortune but with a player of Thuram’s quality available for free, Liverpool have an exceptional opportunity in front of them.

However, they are not the only team interested in the French international, as a result, it will be interesting to see if they can manage to land him.
