Rasmus Hojlund wants Atalanta exit amid Chelsea, Manchester United interest

Rasmus Hojlund has been linked with a summer move away from Atalanta, with Chelsea and Manchester United keen on signing him.

Chelsea and Manchester United are hoping to sign Rasmus Hojlund this summer. And the player has already informed Atalanta that he wishes to move on after they failed to secure Champions League qualification. A report from 90min claims that the youngster could be available for a fee of around £55 million.

Manchester United need to bring in attacking reinforcements this summer, and they are looking to sign two forwards. Apparently, the Red Devils want an established forward along with a talented young prospect. Hojlund would be a quality long-term option for them, and it remains to be seen whether they can get the deal done.

The 20-year-old striker joined Atalanta last summer and he has 15 goals across all competitions. The fact that he wants to leave the Italian club will come as a boost to both Manchester United and Chelsea.

Marcus Rashford has been carrying the Manchester United attack all by himself, and he needs more support next season. Signing a talented young forward like Hojlund could prove to be a wise decision. The 20-year-old would be the ideal understudy to the England international, and he could end up being a key player for Manchester United in the coming seasons.

Meanwhile, Chelsea have struggled to score goals consistently, and they need to bring in a reliable finisher. Hojlund has proven his quality in the Italian league, and he would be a solid addition to the Chelsea attack. Both Premier League clubs have the financial resources to pay the £55 million asking price this summer.

Chelsea have reportedly held talks with the Italian club’s chief executive Luca Percassi, and Manchester United will discuss a move with him as well. Time will tell whether the Red Devils can win the race for his signature.

Manchester United can offer him Champions League football next season as opposed to Chelsea, who have finished in the bottom half of the table this term. That could give the Red Devils a major advantage in the transfer race.
